The MajorI had requests for a section on the Major, so here it is... He's a Nazi! He's insane! (What Nazi isn't/wasn't?) He loves war! He utilizes vampires in his army! Some people actually love him! Others hate his guts! To each his/her own!

It's interesting to see how the Major gains (even more) weight throughout the manga. 
Also, as I've just finished reading "Coyote", it's fun to see him without the extra weight. Though he seemed taller there. Or maybe it's just my impression.
There's basically nothing about him that I like.  Apart from Alucard's statements, the Major is disgusting, he loves war, and he has no morals whatsoever. Thus I find him a very convincing villain. 
It's only too bad that we don't get to see him (and not only him) in the anime.

I agree completely... And it would have been wonderful to see more of the manga characters in the naime. But luckily, one day we will, thanks to the OVA!

I've seen an "OVA trailer" which shows the Major eating sausages. What species is he, really?
