Alucard

Question about Alucard

Ok. A very popular argument for those who refuse to support any pairing involving Al, because supposedly "Alucard can't love!" I only have one response to that: you obviously have no clue WHO Al even is.
ALUCARD IS DRACULA.
Dracula was an actual person, Vlad Tepes Drakul. He dedicated his life to protecting the Church, as his family before him had done. According to the original legend of Dracula, he had a wife, a beautiful princess (I believe her name was Elizabeta). He did love her. When she heard false news of his death by enemies, she killed herself, leaving a note that she would see her Prince in heaven. When he discovered that she was dead, he broke down. A Priest told him that since she had taken her own life, Elizabeta was damned and therefore could not possibly go to heaven. Vlad flipped out, cursing the Church, asking if this was his reward for defending it. He renounced God and was punished by God/ made a pact with the Devil and became the first vampire, Dracula.
Centuries later, Dracula fell in love with Wilhelmina Harker, and this is where Professor Abraham Van Helsing comes in and saves her, then enslaving Dracula somehow. Eventually Dracula became known as Alucard, which is nothing more than his own name spelled backwards.
So now tell me: how could Alucard not be capable of love, when he became what he is to avenge the death of a woman he loved? How could he be affiliated with the Hellsing organization at all, if it were not for the love of a woman???

I know I'm new and all...and I might ruffle feathers with the next comment...but...
The REAL Dracula was not a count but the last voivod of the Wallchian throne. He married a Hungarian Princess who's name was Elizabeta. Dracula simply means 'son of the dragon' as his father was know as Dracul, meaning dragon (or depending on the dialect it could mean devil) after the Holy order that he represented. Dracula's real first name was Vladislaus (Vlad) and his last name was in fact Dracula (the knights of certain orders often adopted the name of the order as their surname), Tsepes (Tsepesh) does in fact mean impaler and was adopted by the nobility and history, not by the man himself. Dracula was dethroned over 13 times, betrayed by his younger brother Radhu in the end, and murdered by the Hungarians and the Turks working together. Dracula's wife did in fact kill herself, however it was him that drove her to it. She could not accept the acts of violence and genocide that her husband performed and so she killed herself. They had one child together who was taken in by his Hungarian grandfather (Elizabeta's father) and raised as a member of his court. He was named after his father and his uncle (Vladislaus Radhu). Dracula is a hero in some countries to this day. Wilhelmina Harker as well as a multitude of characters in Bram Stoker's book are fictional, the ramblings of a drunken Irishman if you will.
Sorry if this annoys people, I get a little touchy about the subject, I am of Romanian descent and the history of this man has been passed down throughout the ages, uncorupt and full of reverance. Thanks all for reading, feel free to flame away if you please...I probably deserve it. Twisted Evil
Hellen

emz... does this have something to do with "Alucard can't love!" ?.. Neutral
cneajna

Not really...sorry, I get a little carried away when I'm up on my soapbox...lol...I agree with our own Alucard, how could someone say that Alucard could not love???
Hellen

but your info was really usefull ^_^
cneajna

Thanks Helen, and I'm sorry I got a little off topic...lol...I could go on for days about the real Dracula...lol...it's a good thing there is no section in here for that or I woud own it! LOL.
Hellen

that would be interesting Very Happy about the section
Alucard

****Claps and cheers**** Yes! Someone did their homework! You are officially the first person who did not believe what I said. Very Happy I am completely surrounded by gullible fools. Actually, that bit of nonsense I rambled on about was all from the movie Bram Stoker's Dracula. THANK YOU, wholeheartedly, for telling everyone the REAL story of Dracula. (A smart person! Hooray!)

Would you happen to be an Anne Rice fan, by the way? That quote sounds very similar to a quote from the movie version of Interview With a Vampire, except Louis said "demented" instead of "drunken"... lol.

I think it's awesome that you are of Romanian descent, by the way.
- Cool That is simply wonderful. S i m p l y . . . w o n d e r f u l . . .
LadyHellsing

FOLKS!!!!!!OMG ...there wasn't any Elizabeta, the first Vlad's wife was some Transilvanian nobility, that's all, there's no records of her name...Geesh>.<Later, to get his throne back Dracula had to mary a relative of Hungarian king Mathias Corrvinus, her name was Ilona Szilagy and she gave birth to their two children Vlad and the one who's name is lost to the history. It's just that too popular version of 'the first wife' is very very close to fiction. Excuse me if I overreacted but Dracula is my some sort of idol and I claim to know much about him. And I never put up with the wrong information.
When I've caught the glimpse of the first lines ripped exactly out of the 'Bram Stoker's Dracula" movie I suddenly wanted to give a biiiiig lesson about Vlad III Tepes Dracula. But then saw that somebody has done it before Very Happy
yes the 'the love question' is quite lame...I don't see a point in it;D of course he can love. OK, if anyone wants to know more about real Dracula issues then go to this site. Althougt it would the best to read some books or chronicles( russian preferable, only they are not biassed). Here's the link---> http://www.ucs.mun.ca/~emiller/vlad.html :DDDDDDDD not much but enough and quite correct Very Happy
LadyHellsing

Well, and as long as we all know that Alucard is Dracula there is no replays off tpoic Very Happy and yes it would be nice to have a separate topic for him Very Happy
Alucard

Well the love question did have a point to it but apparently you failed to see it.... a lot of people see Al as emotionless. It was what you call a subject open to debate. a CONVERSATION STARTER
LadyHellsing

I think Alucard cannot be emotioneless because he cries, get's angry and even cares about some people;D
Hellen

emotionless alucard... =DD i cant imagine him being emotionless. he's always grinning for gods sake XDDD and cries almost as much as integra does in the anime:D
Alucard

I know all that, and I agree with that, I'm just saying that I've met people who think he/ Dracula can't have emotions
crunchy

why cant they have emotions there living beings sort of
Alucard

exactly, my view is that they can, but some people for some reason don't have that mindset. I was just addressing their views as well.
